How can I carry the birTee® that I use with my Driver since I find it too big to put in my pockets?

Solution: CLIP

You can use the CLIP and clip it to the exterior of your golf bag (see photos) or to the belt of your pants or skirts.

Sometimes I hit the birTee® more than the ball and send the birTee® flying 5 yards or more in front of me. Do you have a solution so that it does not travel as far as well as a solution to carry it?

Solution: FISH

This solution really answers 4 questions or concerns instead of just 2.

During a golf game I will normally use at least 4 birTee® tees out of 8.

With the FISH solution (a 2 foot long piece of fishing line or string) I attach my birTee® # 2 to my birTee® # 8 as well as my # 3 to my # 4.

Solution # 1.
By attaching 2 tees together they don’t fly as far, since the 2nd tee acts as an anchor or parachute and prevents the tee that was hit from flying so far.

Solution # 2.
It is also an excellent solution to carry the birTee® tees.  When I put my Driver back in the bag I simply put the string or fishing line around the Driver (see photos).  This way your favorite tees are very visible and very accessible. This way you don’t have to put them in your pockets or in your golf bag.

Solution # 3.
It is an excellent solution for people with back or hip problems (reason for the invention of the birTee® in the first place).  Instead of having to bend over to pick up your tee, you can simply use the other end of your Driver (see photos) to pick up your tees by the string or fishing line.

Solution # 4.
If you have ever lost golf balls or tees in a pond then the FISH solution can help you fish your tees out of the pond (sorry it won’t help you with your lost golf balls).  Since the birTee® tees float, you can use your Driver (see photos) to grab the string or fishing line to scoop them out.

* The fishing line used in the photos is bigger and darker than a normal fishing line in order to be visible in the photos.  If a colored string or fishing line will distract you, then you can use a clear fishing line.  If the string is not a distraction, then a nice pink string with the pink birTee® tees will make it even easier to locate.

What is the origin of the Trade-mark BIRTEE?

The first 3 letters are actually from the badminton term “Birdie”, commonly used instead of the word “Shuttlecock” and not from the golf term.  Not that it makes any difference, but it is meant that way to show the origin of the idea and the transfer from badminton to golf.

Why the name Rainbow BIRTEE®?

After experimenting with different sizes and ways of identifying a recycled badminton “Birdie”, I came up with 7 sizes, hoping to cover any size club from a Youth, Junior or Adult set and thought of using colors to identify them.  Since the tees fit nicely one under the other like the colors of the rainbow and that the flight of a golf ball is very much like the shape of the rainbow, it just seemed logical to use the colors of the rainbow.   You can therefore call your favorite “Rainbow” BIRTEE® by its color.  I like the ball very high for my Driver so I use the “Red”BIRTEE®.

What is the origin of the 4R’S LOGO® Trade-mark?

It goes back to the origin of the BIRTEE®.  By recycling a damaged badminton “Birdie” and reusing it as a golf tee I realized that it was very durable and lasted much longer (for me anyways) than regular tees.  I was therefore reducing the pollution on the golf course by not breaking many wooden or other types of tees.  That’s for the 3R’S and the fourth R (Recreation) came to me in the middle of the night when I was thinking of my invention instead of sleeping.  So the new idea combines the 3R’S for taking better care of the environment and the fourth for taking better care of your health, by going out and being active.

On the Logo, the 4 and the R are almost a mirror image of each other, forming an arrow which is pointing to the new term (Recreation).  The 4 (like a friend mentioned) looks like a golf flag.  When I think of a flag I automatically think “Green Flag”.  That’s why it is green and the R is blue because of the color of the Blue Box.

What is the difference between the two models:  the Rainbow BIRTEE® and the BIRTEE®?

The Rainbow BIRTEE® was made from a recycled badminton “Birdie”.
I have found out after spending countless hours analyzing and testing different types of badminton “Birdies” that not all “Birdies” were created equal.

They have different strengths and weaknesses.
The BIRTEE® is an improved version of the Rainbow BIRTEE®, designed with the best qualiTees of each type of “Birdie” in mind.
It is offered in 8 sizes instead of 7.

For my Driver, my “Red” BIRTEE® has now become the “# 8” BIRTEE®.

The extra size is for the golfer who likes the ball very low when using an iron.

Can I use the name 4R® golf tee instead of the name Rainbow BIRTEE®?

If you prefer to call it the “4R golf tee” then go right ahead, since the 4R’S LOGO® originated from the idea of recycling a damaged badminton “Birdie”.

Can I use the name 4R® golf tee instead of the name BIRTEE®?

This question is more debatable. The BIRTEE® is designed with the idea of recycling in mind.

For example, if you use the # 8 BIRTEE® over and over again with your driver and damage it to the point that it can no longer support the ball at that height, but that the top part is still intact, then it can be trimmed back and recycled into a shorter tee and reused with a different club.

If the golfer chooses to do that, then the answer is yes.
If the golfer chooses not to do so, the answer might also be yes, since the BIRTEE® will be made from recyclable plastic.  Therefore if the golfer throws it in the recycling bin, one might say that it also qualifies to be called a “4R golf tee”.

So you can choose the name that you prefer.  I like “BIRTEE®” because I had some input for coming up with the name.  The Phys. Ed. Teacher and I came up with the name on our way out of school one Friday night.  My wife on the other hand, actually prefers the name “4R® golf tee”.  This way we’re both happy.

Who will benefit the most from your invention?

Everyone!   Since the BIRTEE® offers such a diversiTee of qualiTees, each and every golfer from the youngest to the oldest will have his or her favorite reason for using it.  My little girl is the youngest golfer to use it so far and was not quite 3 years old at the time.  Because of these 4 qualiTees: SimpliciTee, RapidiTEE, VersatiliTee and VarieTee, she was able to tee up her own ball quickly, easily, on a hard surface and at the right height for her mini driver, without needing or wanting (terrible two’s stage) any help from her daddy. Her grand-father on the other hand, who introduced me to the game of golf by the way, is the oldest golfer to have used it so far.  Because of a hip replacement and problems with his other hip he likes it for the same reasons plus for all its other qualiTees, but especially for FaciliTee (because of his hip again) and SafeTee.  He really likes this last qualiTee.  After testing the Rainbow BIRTEE® for 4 or 5 rounds of golf together, I remember him proudly telling me that we had not polluted the golf course whatsoever in that many games.  This tee can be beneficial to golfers suffering from back problems, hip problems, tendonitis, carpel tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, or arthritic pain and discomfort.  If you are lucky and don’t have any of these problems you might just like to save time and energy and protect the environment at the same time.
